Gulf of Maine Touch Tank
Do you love working with the public? Do you love live animals? Are you enthusiastic and knowledgable? Then the touch tank is just the place for you.
Our Touch Tank is a main attraction. Get trained to give demonstrations and learn how to safely hold the animals, where they live and what they eat.
Do you love children? Are you artistic? Combine your two passions and host a weekly art workshop in the Coastal Children's Museum's Arty-Party room! Create magical, creative, innovative and inventive art with children of all ages! Contact us today, get on our calendar and start creating!
Greeting and Admissions
Do you love meeting new people? Are you friendly and welcoming? Greeting people and helping out in our front office might be just the place for you!
Be the friendly smiling face that people first see when they walk into the museum. Record names and exchange money. Other responsibilities may include, answering the phone, taking donations and membership and birthday party reservations.
Become a science expert and help us create exhibits, materials, projects and posters for folks that visit the Coastal Children's Museum. An example may be to research and create an informative dispolay for our 'How and Why' science center, using pictures books, and creating accompanying activities to enrich the museum!
At the Coastal Children's Museum, we offer our space to children and their families to rent for birthday parties. Our 'Arty Party' space makes for the perfect spot to celebrate with cake and presents while the children, family and their friends get to spend two full hours playing in the museum.
Birthday Parties are held Saturday afternoon from 4:30 - 6:30 and Sunday morning from 10:00 - 12:00. Volunteer and help us by supervising the party, clean up and reseting for the next day. For additional information about birthday parties visit our 'birthday' page here.
Arts, Crafts, Science, Special Events & Workshops
Are you artistic? If so then our 'Arty Party' space is just for you. Be an artistic guide, show families and children how to complete crafts, what materials to use, and how to decorate.
Lend your crafty hand and volunteer with the Coastal Children's Museum creating crafts, assisting at workshops, science projects special programs, events and more!
Jim Fix it
Are you handy? Do you have a green thumb? Do you like to fix and refurbish? At the Coastal Children's Museum, we are always looking for people on hand who can jump right in and keep our facility looking sharp.
Repaint outdoor benches, weed the gardens, plant new flowers, and so much more!
Fundraising & Events
Do you enjoy helping at events, planning and organizing? Join the Coastal Children's Museum in our efforts to fundraise! Spread the word to the community, hand out and hang posters, attend events and help us stay organized. Last but not least tell all of your friends adn family members to join in the fun!

Do you have experience writing grants? Assist our staff in research and grant writing. This task can be done remotely and/or in our office.
